Every student should have multiple opportunities to learn from employers about work, employment and the skills that are valued in the workplace and participate in at least 1 meaningful encounter with an employer (Gatsby Foundation Report for Good Career Guidance).
EBP is here to support schools with their Education & Business relationships. An Extensive database of over 4500+ employers is available and offers work experience and extended work experience opportunities to students. A comprehensive management system ensures that we can cater for all school needs, with the option for schools to add their own employer leads. Qualified health and safety staff check all placements before work experience takes place.
Work experience is one of the most important links between employers and schools. It provides an opportunity for young people to experience first-hand (and often for the first time) what happens in a ‘real’ working environment.
Employers are needed throughout the year to provide work experience opportunities for students in year 10 (age 15 years) upwards who will have a wide range of interests and are studying a variety of courses/subjects. Placements range in length from a 3 – 5 days as a block week placement to extended placements over a longer period, usually 1 day per week. Placements can be flexible and suit the requirements of the business.
Worcestershire EBP work closely with schools and employers to ensure a comprehensive database of work experience opportunities are available for young people to easily access through their educational establishment. For employers, the process required in order to set their company up to showcase its opportunities on the portal are simple and straight forward for companies of all size and sectors. From pre-placement health and safety visits to preparing placement descriptions for students, we’ll guide you every step of the way to set the placement up for success.
